These are notes for my own reference, since I am always forgetting details about the hardware I use, and this avoids having to open the case or look at the files containing boot messages.

• Intel i7-3770K at 3.5 Ghz (4 cores, 8 threads, 8M cache)
• 32G of ram
• Gigabit network on the motherboard.
• Graphics via i7 on chip graphics
• Samsung 120G SSD 850 drive with linux root and /boot
• Western Digital WD2003FZEX-0 SATA drive for data.

My home photoshop machine (gila)

• Running Windows 10 Professional 64 bit
• Asus P8Z68-V Pro Gen3 with Bios 3202 2/17/2012
• Intel i7-3770K at 3.5 Ghz
• 16G of RAM (4 sticks)
• One Seagate SATA ST32000641AS drive, 2000G, 7200rpm, 6G/s, 64M buffer.
• One Asus SATA DVD drive DRW-24B1ST
• Gigabit network on the motherboard
• Graphics via GPU in the i7 processor.

My work machine (cholla)

• Asus P8Z77-V - Z77 chipset, socket 1155 motherboard
• Intel i7-3770K at 3.4 Ghz (4 cores, 8 threads, 8M cache)
• 32G of ram
• Gigabit network on the motherboard.
• Graphics via i7 on chip graphics
• A pair of identical 2000G Western Digital WD20EZRZ drives that mirror each other.
