Logic Analyzers - Cypress CY7C68013A board

The above link describes a 2M sample/second single channel "logic analyzer" built from one of these.

I got curious about this chip when looking into components used on my Digilent Spartan 3E starter board. This particular component seems to offer a dual purpose uart, one used for JTAG, the other for a serial terminal (?) on the starter board. This is the "secret" part of the schematic, so I am not sure.

The above project is curious. Did any code get written for the Cypress chip?

I ordered 4 of these little boards for AliExpress for $4.50 each.

Note that Cypress was purchased by Infineon.

Details

The chip has 20 GPIO pins, i2c and dedicated USB. The board has a couple of LED's for initial testing. You use EZ_USB software offered by the vendor (or open source tools)
