FPGA - Xybo board - overview
Here is my list of changes moving from the Zybo to the Zybo Z7
- ARM runs at 667 Mhz rather than 650 Mhz
- no VGA output
- bidirectional HDMI replaced by HDMI out or in
- adds PCAM camera port
- adds RGB led
- one less Pmod port
- many pin mappings have changed
- different DDR memory is used
- a version with the bigger Z7020 is now available
None of these are major or deal breakers for me.
(i.e. I am not heart broken that I saved some money buying the original Zybo).
The migration guide is very good, with full details.
Some specifications
- Dual core ARM at 650 Mhz
- 512M of DDR3 memory
- Gigabit ethernet
- 4 switches, 6 buttons, 5 LED
- 4400 logic slices, 80 DSP slices, 240K block RAM
- 450+ Mhz internal clock
- 6 pmod ports (each with 8 bits)
