Galen Rowell's rules
Somewhere I jotted down that Galen Rowell had 5 rules for
taking pictures. I cannot find an actual list now that I am
wanting it. But here are some interesting statements of his that
will have to do for now:
- If it looks good - shoot it; if it looks better - shoot it again.
- Always use a tripod.
There is a book:
Galen Rowell's Inner Game of Outdoor Photography
It is 66 articles from a column he used to write in "Outdoor Photographer".
(There is another book: "Galen Rowell's Vision").
He said:
"You only get one sunrise and one sunset a day, and you only get so many days on the planet.
A good photographer does the math and doesn't waste either. "
Whether he said it or not, it is a good quote, and probably it is authentic.
