Video - DaVinci Resolve on linux

I just wrongly assumed this would be a Mac or Windows only thing, but when I went to install it on my Windows machine, I see a linux install button. This is great!

I am getting version 18.6, for which they recommend Centos 8.3 to run. I am running Fedora 39, so we will see if I run into issues (we do). The download gives me:

-rw-r--r-- 1 tom tom 2596581675 Apr 7 16:54 DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.6_Linux.zip
So, a 2.6G zip file. I do this:
cd /u1
mv /home/tom/Downloads/DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.6_Linux.zip .
mkdir DaVinci
cd DaVinci
unzip ../DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.6_Linux.zip
This gives me:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 tom tom 2620699872 Mar 19 03:07 DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.6_Linux.run
-rw-r--r-- 1 tom tom 56226 Mar 18 00:44 Linux_Installation_Instructions.pdf
They say you must have an Nvidia driver installed.

Hold on though! If you are installing on Fedora 39 (as I am) there are some things you need to do first. I discovered this on my first attempt. Skip right to the "second attempt" link below unless you are just curious.
